May 15th vs Cubs

The first ever Bytown Battalion game did not go the way the expansion team had hoped. The Cubs jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and never looked back, winning by a final of 8-4. The Cubs scratched across 4 runs in the top on the 1st, capitalizing on 3 walks and an error. Sloppy play was the theme of the night, with the Battalion making 3 errors. The Battalion did make it close, but in the end came up short.

Wil McIntyre made his first start in the red and gold and gave up 4 earned in 3 innings, all without allowing a hit. Casey Floyd then came in to mop up the rest of the game, going 3 innings and allowing 3 runs. Eitan Maoz and Ryan Meek both got their names in the record books, picking up the first ever Battalion hit and RBI. Maoz and Steve Renaud both had two hits in the losing effort. The Battalion are back at it on Tuesday against the Ponies
