June 16th vs Outlaws

Well, any concerns about the Battalion’s offense are long in the past as they knocked off the Outlaws 18-0 in 5 innings for their 8th straight win. The offense blew up for a 6 run second, then went on to score 4, 3, then 4 in the following 3 innings, with help from 15 hits, including 8 extra base hits. Eitan Maoz and Wil McIntyre both broke through with their first home runs of the season, and of their NCBL careers. Maoz also added 4 RBIs and 2 runs. Evan Hammond also broke through with his first two doubles of the season, knocking in 3 in the process. Ryan Dillon added his NCBL leading 11th RBI, while going 1-for-3, to cap of the night.

On the defensive side, the Battalion were strong behind Brendan Saville, who took the bump and went 4 strong innings. He was given a big lead and cruised from the start, striking out 6 and not allowing a runner past 2nd base all night. Casey Floyd then came in to throw the final inning, striking out one. The combined effort brought the Battalion’s team ERA down to jaw dropping 1.61 on the season.

Next up is the Kanata Atheltics on Friday. A game baseball fans wont want to miss.

W: Saville (3-1)
L: McGee (0-1)
