The Battalion were short on bodies, as only 10 made the trip down to Kingston. Because of this, Wil McIntyre, who got the save in game 1, had to start game 2. He was very effective, going 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs.
This was a heated affair, involving 2 benches clearing altercations. The first came after Evan Hammond‘s 5th inning home run. Sam Brown was the next batter and had the first pitch come up and in, the 2nd go behind him, and the 3rd finally hitting him. The benches cleared but eventually settled.
The second altercation happened after Derek Mack felt he was intentionally hit on a 3-2 count with the bases loaded in a 3-1 game. Tempers flared and the benches cleared once again.
All in all there was 5 hit batters, 3 by the Battalion and 2 by the Ponies. Some how no warnings or ejections happened.
Eric Brisbois came in for the final 2 innings for the Ponies and earned the save.
The Battalion have 9 days off before their next game against the Outlaws.
