The Battalion were in need of a big win and that is exactly what they got after a long layover. It had been 9 days since their last game but you wouldn’t have guessed it after they knocked out a season high 13 hits, including 3 from reigning MVP Steve Renaud.
Wil McIntyre got his 4th start of the year and went the distance, even after spraining his ankle in the 2nd inning. His final line was 7IP, 1R, 0ER, 3H, 5K, 1BB.
The offense was on from the start, getting at least 1 hit in 5 of the 7 innings. Renaud led the way with 3 hits and 3 RBIs, McIntyre helped himself out with a 2 RBI double, Matt MacIntyre continued his hot streak going 2-for-4 with a double, Josh Jones was 3-for-3 with 3 singles and an RBI, and Ben Milinkovich went 2-for-4 with a run.
It was a 1-1 game until the Battalion broke it open in the 4th, scoring 4 runs 4 hits.
The Battalion now move into a tie for 3rd place.
