May 18th vs Brewers

The Battalion were trying to enact some revenge on the Nepean Brewers after losing in 5 games in the NCBL Championship last season. Coming into action the Battalion were 6-7 against the Brewers all time.

Josh Soffer got his second start of the season for the Battalion. The first batter reached on error (classic 1st inning Battalion Baseball) before Soff was able to induce a 5-4-3 double play. However, the next 4 baserunners reached, scoring 2 runs for the Brewers (also classic 1st inning Battalion Baseball).

Nick Gazo took the bump for the Brewers and was rolled through the first inning, striking out two.  The Battalion were able to get to Gazo in the bottom of the 2nd after Alex Baldock led off with a triple and was promptly scored on an RBI single by Matt MacIntyre

The Battalion and Brewers traded runs in the 3rd and 4th and headed to the bottom of the 6th inning with the Brewers ahead 3-2.

Steve Renaud led off the bottom of the 6th with a hard hit single to right field. Baldock was able to follow suit with a single of his own, resulting in runners on 1st and 3rd with no outs. MacIntyre continued his torrid RBI pace by adding another, this time by way of a fielders choice. Game tied 3-3

Ryan Dillon then came up with 1 out and runners on 2nd and 3rd. As the Heavy is known to do, he came up with a clutch 2 run single, scoring Baldock and MacIntyre.

The Battalion were able to add 2 more in the inning to go up 7-3 heading into the 7th.

Josh Soffer went out and did what Josh Soffer does and finished off the game, allowing one more run on some finely placed Brewers hits. Soffers final line was 7IP, 4R, 2ER, 8H, 9K, 2BB, ~ 1438238 pitches

The Battalion move to 2-1 on the season and face off with the Ottawa Outlaws tomorrow night

WP: Soffer (1-0)
LP: Gaz0 (1-1)
