The Battalion were looking to move to 3-1 and have the best start in Battalion history. Charlie Crabb got the call and looked to add to his stellar start to the year.
Crabb was fantastic from the get go and only allowed 5 baserunners over his 4 innings of work. He finished the night with 4IP, 0R, 4H, 4K, 1BB
The offense was able to manufacture a run in the bottom of the first and cruise from there. Kyle Craig led off with a hard single to left field. Craig was able to steal 2nd before advancing to 3rd on a wild pitch. Steve Renaud cashed him in on a RBI ground out
The game stayed 1-0 until the bottom of the 4th where Ryan Dillon added to his hot start with an RBI double, scoring Alex Baldock.
Braden McGinnis took the mound for the 5th and worked his way into trouble. McGinnis allowed a lead off walk to Bryan McGee. He was able to strike out the second batter he faced and got some defensive help in the process as Evan Hammond was able to gun down McGee trying to steal second. McGinnis then let the next three Outlaw batters to reach before striking out Ryan Scully on a 3-2 fastball. The classic 4.00WHIP and 0.00ERA for Mr. McGinnis.
The Battalion added 2 more in the 5th, and 2 more in the 6th to go up 6-0 going into the 7th
Wil McIntyre took the mound for the final frame and allowed 1 run on one hit before closing the door.
The Battalion are off the their best start in team history. They have some time to rest some arms before heading to Kingston for a doubleheader with the rival Ponies on May 28th
WP: Crabb (2-0)
